Our distant ancestors were treated with liqueur prepared according to this recipe. It was also good for preventing possible diseases.

Traditional Kalinovka

Previously, moonshine was used to make it, now viburnum liqueur is made with vodka or alcohol.

Ingredients:

  • 2 kg of berries;
  • liter of alcohol;
  • 200 g sugar.

It is better to collect viburnum berries after several frosts. They will become sweeter, the bitterness will decrease, and the soft berries will release the juice more easily. We remove the collected berries from the ridges and wipe them to remove dirt.

Advice! You cannot wash the berries - they contain natural yeast, which is responsible for the fermentation process.

Mash the berries a little, sprinkling them with sugar. They should let out the juice. Let them ferment for two days.

Attention! The contents of the jar must be stirred every 4 hours.

Place the berries in the bottle in which the liqueur will be prepared, fill them with alcohol or vodka, and place it in a dark place.

Every 3 days, the liquid fraction must be poured into a separate container, where it should stand for a day. During this time, the berries in the bottle should be mixed a couple of times. After 24 hours, pour the liquid part of the liqueur back.

Advice! Shake the infusion bottle daily.

It takes about one and a half months to infuse. Then you can strain the liqueur, or you don’t have to do this, but it’s very good to add berry syrup to it. It will become tastier and acquire a rich berry taste. Now it can be used as a medicine or just a strong alcoholic drink.

Viburnum liqueur

To get the finished product according to this recipe, you will need to be patient, because it will take a long time to infuse the viburnum liqueur - at least 4 months. But it turns out to be of the highest quality after seven months of infusion.The recipe does not have strict proportions. We do everything by eye.

We wash the berries and pour them into a 3 liter jar, not reaching 1/3 of the top. The rest of the volume should be occupied by sugar. We pour alcohol - how much will go in. It is better if it is pure alcohol, but you can also use vodka.

Warning! The jar should be closed very tightly so that the alcohol does not evaporate.

You need to infuse the liqueur in the dark. When the ripening period of the drink is over, drain the liqueur, squeeze out the berries and add sugar syrup to taste.

Viburnum puree liqueur

Proportions for preparing the drink: 1 part berry puree, the same amount of sugar and 2 times more alcohol. We sort the berries, remove them from the ridges, grind them using a meat grinder or blender, and then additionally rub them through a sieve. We put the berry puree into a container for infusion, add the same amount of sugar by weight and pour in 2 times more alcohol.

Advice! To avoid mistakes, it is better to weigh the berry puree.

Infuse the liqueur in a dark and cool place for about a month. After this period, the liqueur is filtered. If desired, the drink can be diluted with boiled water.

Viburnum liqueur with honey

The following recipe combines viburnum with honey, which enhances its healing properties.

The proportions for preparing such a liqueur are extremely simple. You need to take honey, berries and alcohol in equal quantities. Viburnum fruits mashed with honey must be kept for 24 hours. Then they should be filled with alcohol. Leave for a couple of weeks.

Viburnum liqueur is especially good for asthma and colds. It reduces the risk of attacks and prevents colds.If you suffer from hypertension, ulcers or gastritis, this tincture can significantly alleviate the condition.

Viburnum liqueur with lemon and honey

Adding lemon zest to the liqueur will give it citrus notes.

For 0.5 liters of vodka you will need:

  • berries - 300g;
  • honey or sugar - 150 g;
  • zest of one lemon;
  • water - a glass.

Press the prepared berries so that juice is formed. If you use sugar, you will have to make syrup from it and water. Boil it for about 5 minutes, carefully removing the white foam.

When using honey, it is better to simply dilute it with boiled water, since heat treatment weakens its medicinal properties.

Mix crushed berries and honey or sugar syrup. My lemon. Using the smallest grater, carefully remove the yellow skin - the zest.

Warning! The inner white shell should not get into the liqueur, this can spoil the taste of the future drink.

Add to viburnum with sugar zest and add vodka. The future liqueur should be infused in a warm and dark place.

Shake the bottle of tincture daily to improve the taste of the drink.

After just 2 weeks, it can be filtered and stored in bottles.

Viburnum liqueur with sea buckthorn

The following recipe contains two very useful berries: sea buckthorn and viburnum. Adding spices only enhances the healing effect. Both fresh and frozen and even dried berries are suitable for this drink.

Ingredients:

  • dry viburnum berries - 1 cup, fresh or frozen - 2 cups;
  • sea ​​buckthorn - 1 glass;
  • 3 buds of cloves;
  • a teaspoon each of pink and black peppercorns;
  • 2 star anise;
  • honey or sugar - 100 g;
  • vodka or alcohol - 2.5 l.

Lightly grind the berries with sugar or honey. Let the mixture sit warm for 6-7 hours.Transfer to a bottle, add all the spices and add alcohol. It is best to use alcohol.

Attention! It is not recommended to replace pink and black pepper with allspice.

The infusion time depends on what kind of berries were used: for fresh berries one and a half months is enough, for dry ones more than three are needed.

The bottle needs to be shaken a couple of times a day.

Every 3 days, drain the liquid part of the tincture and leave for 24 hours; be sure to mix the remaining berries. After soaking, pour the liquid back.

Results

Viburnum liqueur is a strong and tasty natural drink. But its main effect is therapeutic. Usually take it one tablespoon 2 times a day.
