To enjoy the blooming of beautiful roses, you don’t have to buy expensive seedlings. You can try growing flowers from seeds. Polyanthus or multi-flowered varieties are best suited for this.
Among the various varieties polyanthus roses, multi-flowered ever-blooming rose mini “Garden Aroma” stands out for its delicate, pleasant scent.
Characteristic
Producer of seeds "Aelita".
The bush is compact, up to 30 cm high. The flowers are semi-double, up to 3 cm, bright pink, light pink or white.
Blooms profusely from June to late September.
Winter-hardy, tolerates temperatures down to -15 degrees without shelter. If the above-ground part is damaged by frost, it quickly recovers from the root.
Landing
Sowing seeds for seedlings begins in March. The seeds are placed in prepared soil, watered, and covered with transparent material. After 2-3 weeks, the first shoots appear.
After the first shoots appear, you need to place the container with the seedlings in a sunny, warm place. When the sprouts reach a height of 10–15 cm, you need to transplant the seedlings to a permanent place.
Multi-flowered roses can be planted in open ground, in pots, containers, and cache-pots.
Before planting seedlings, it is necessary to prepare the soil. The following is added to the soil for growing roses:
- Humus - 2 parts;
- Garden soil - 2 parts;
- Wood ash – 1 part;
- Complex of mineral fertilizers - according to the instructions.
If the flowers will be grown in pots, you can add perlite to the soil. Planting in pots can be done at any time.
Planting in open ground begins when warm weather sets in; it is advisable to cover the seedlings at night.
Care
Growing multifloral ever-blooming mini “Garden Aroma” rose bushes is not particularly difficult.
Water the bushes as needed; the top layer of soil should dry out between waterings.
Next year it is necessary to apply a complex of mineral and organic fertilizers so that the bushes can fully develop.
They are very rarely affected by fungal diseases; in the cold, rainy season they can develop rust and powdery mildew. A single treatment with fungicides is usually sufficient for complete recovery of flowers.
Flowers growing indoors can be affected by spider mites. Treatment with insecticides is carried out carefully, choosing drugs with low toxicity.
Rose bushes can bring double the pleasure if you grow them yourself.
Reviews
I bought “Garden Aroma” seeds. I've read reviews that say germination is good. One seed sprouted from two packets (11 seeds). The quality of the seed is disgusting.
