Characteristics of Pink Hit tomato

Tomato Pink Hit is classified as a beef variety. Its fruits are fleshy, the percentage of middle pulp content is higher than that of the seed chambers. Characterized by multi-chamber - 4-6 segments.

Productivity and ripening period of Pink Hit tomato

According to the ripening period, the Pink Hit tomato is classified as an early hybrid. The harvest ripens in an average of 60-65 days. Approximately 3-3.5 kg of fruits are collected from the bush.

Pink Hit tomatoes are dense and hold their shape well. Coupled with excellent transportability, this minimizes losses during harvesting and transportation of crops. The keeping quality of fruits during the sales process is high.

Resistance to diseases and pests

One of the goals of breeding the Pink Hit F1 tomato was to obtain a hybrid that was resistant to adverse factors. As a result, the variety received high immunity to a number of viral and fungal diseases characteristic of the culture:

  • tomato mosaic;
  • fusarium wilt (fusarium);
  • verticillium.

The hybrid is moderately resistant to yellow leaf curl virus.

Methods of application

Tomato Pink Hit belongs to the salad varieties. Its main purpose is fresh consumption. The hybrid is also suitable for processing. The harvest is used for canning, freezing in the form of puree or slicing.

Advantages and disadvantages

The Pink Hit hybrid forms 4-5 large tomatoes on the fruit cluster, but creases are not typical for it. This feature has a positive effect on the yield of the variety.

Pink Hit is an indeterminate variety, its fruiting and ripening period is extended

Pros:

  • high productivity;
  • earlier maturation;
  • large fruits;
  • excellent taste and aroma;
  • fleshy, juicy pulp;
  • immunity to a number of viral and fungal diseases;
  • drought resistance;
  • good adaptability to adverse conditions;
  • transportability;
  • high commercial quality;
  • crack resistance;
  • Possibility of growing in autumn rotation.

Minuses:

  • the need to form a bush;
  • The period of fruiting and ripening is extended.

Features of cultivation

Pink Heat tomato is planted in the ground through seedlings. Its cultivation takes an average of two months. It is recommended to plant seedlings in greenhouses when the soil warms up to 10 °C. Depending on the region, this is the period from mid-April to the end of May. By the time of planting, the seedlings should have 9-10 true leaves and a flower cluster.

2-3 weeks before planting in the ground, start hardening the seedlings at a temperature of 15 °C, the time is gradually increased

It is better to plant tomatoes after green manure, legumes, corn, and zucchini.The predecessor should not be other nightshades - this entails soil depletion and an increased risk of diseases and pests.

When moving into the ground, adhere to the scheme of 2.5-2.7 plants per 1 m². This means that in a classic planting with a meter interval between rows, 37-40 cm are maintained between bushes.

Comment! The optimal temperature in a greenhouse with tomatoes is 20-22 °C during the day, 15 °C at night, and slightly higher during fruiting. Excessive heat makes the pollen sterile.

1-1.5 weeks after moving the seedlings into the ground, they begin tying them to a vertical trellis. It is carried out systematically every 7-14 days.

Pink Hit is an indeterminate variety. Its cultivation implies the obligatory formation of a bush into one stem. Every 5-7 days, stepsoning is carried out. As the bush forms, remove excess leaves, but only 1-2 at a time.

When planting, seedlings are watered abundantly. After this, moisturizing is not required for several weeks; this stimulates the development and strengthening of the root system. Then the crop is watered every 5-7 days, using 15-20 liters of water. Leaves and stems are not touched; water is poured under the bush. The variety is resistant to moisture deficiency, but it is better not to let the soil dry out more than 3-5 cm.

After watering tomatoes, loosening and ventilation are necessary. Feeding is carried out once every 2-3 weeks. The scheme after planting seedlings in the ground is as follows:

  • after 2-3 weeks, a mineral complex, for ten bushes 10 liters of water, 15 g of ammonium nitrate, 35 g of potassium sulfate, 55 g of superphosphate;
  • during mass flowering and fruit formation, 2-3 foliar feedings, per 100 m² 5 liters of water, 1 g each of boric acid, copper sulfate and zinc sulfate, 5 g each of urea, potassium sulfate and superphosphate;
  • during fruiting, 35 g of ammonium nitrate and superphosphate, 55 g of potassium sulfate per 10 liters of water, consumption 1 liter per bush.

The Pink Hit tomato is harvested gradually, but at least once every 3-7 days. Otherwise, the ripening of the remaining fruits will slow down.

Pest and disease control

The Pink Hit tomato has high resistance to a number of diseases, but immunity to the yellow leaf curl virus is average. It has serious consequences; the risk of infection in greenhouses is higher. Prevention measures:

  • control of virus vectors (tobacco, greenhouse whitefly) - traps, drugs such as Aktara, Iskra, Confidor;
  • compliance with crop rotation;
  • autumn and spring digging with weed removal;
  • disinfection of greenhouses, garden tools.

The yellow curl virus also affects other nightshades, some salad crops, and weeds

To prevent pests, tomatoes are treated with the following preparations:

  • Aktara;
  • Angio;
  • Karate Zeon;
  • Match.

Conclusion

Tomato Pink Hit is a large-fruited indeterminate variety of Turkish origin. It attracts with its excellent immunity to disease, high yield, early ripening, and the ability to grow in different seasons. Caring for the hybrid is standard; bush formation and pinching are required.
