If you suddenly want delicious pickled cabbage, you don’t have to wait long. It can be prepared using the bomb method. This means very quickly, within a day it will be on your table.
For marinated Bomba cabbage, you can use cabbage of any ripening period, since it is not suitable for winter storage. But the taste will be excellent in any case. We offer you different marinating options.
Quickly marinate cabbage - recipes
There are many recipes for pickled cabbage called Bomba. Here are the first two of them.
First recipe
Main ingredients:
- two or three kilograms of cabbage (pelyuska);
- two large carrots;
- 5 or 6 cloves of garlic.
We prepare the marinade from:
- 1500 ml water;
- 2 tablespoons salt;
- 9 tablespoons sugar;
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar essence (200 grams of 9% table vinegar);
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper.
Second recipe
We will need the following ingredients:
- pelyuska – 2 kg;
- carrots – 400 grams;
- garlic – 4 cloves.
To prepare the marinade:
- vegetable oil – 10 ml;
- table vinegar 9% - 150 ml;
- granulated sugar - 3.5 tablespoons;
- salt – 2 tablespoons;
- bay leaf – 3 leaves;
- black pepper – 6 peas;
- water – 500 ml.
Despite the difference in ingredients, the marinated Bomba pellet is prepared in the same way.
General cooking rules step by step
Step one - preparing vegetables:
- To prepare Bomba cabbage according to recipes, wash the vegetable under running water and remove the top leaves with wormholes or other damage. The top leaves are also removed if they are greenish, because Bomba requires white, juicy cabbage. We shred the forks using any tools, the main thing is to get thin strips.
- Wash the washed carrots, remove the skin and rinse. We grate it on a grater with large cells.
The color of the pickled Bomba will depend on the size of the carrots: if you want to get a white preserved vegetable, then this vegetable needs to be cut larger. - We wash the garlic cloves, remove the top scales and remove the thin film, rinse. We will grind it using a press directly into combined vegetables.
- Combine the carrots and pelyutka in a large bowl and mix.
Step two - prepare the marinade:
- Pour 500 ml of clean water into the pan, add the ingredients indicated in the specific recipe, except vinegar and sunflower oil. Put the marinade on the stove to cook.
- We wait 7 minutes from the moment of boiling. Add the oil and vinegar, boil for a couple of minutes and remove the pan from the heat.
Step three - final
Place the vegetables in a marinating pan and pour the hot marinade over them.
- Place a plate on top of the pellet and place a load: a stone or a jar of water.
- After 6-7 hours, transfer the bomb cabbage to a jar, compact it, and top it up with brine.
Place the container in the refrigerator. On the second day, you can use cabbage for salads. Bon appetit everyone!

As you can see, preparing pickled cabbage is not difficult. Even after pouring hot marinade, it does not lose its crunchiness. There is no bitterness in it either.
The only drawback of this preparation is its short shelf life. But this is perhaps not so important. The main thing is that you can marinate the desired portion at any time.
