Is it possible to fry an avocado?

Just twenty years ago, few people even thought about the existence of such a fruit as avocado. He was one of the representatives of overseas delicacies, which were known and eaten only by special connoisseurs and gourmets. But time passed, the product began to be in demand due to its unique properties, and now the presence of avocados on the shelves of ordinary stores no longer causes amazement to anyone. It has become a traditional representative of overseas flora, like tangerines or lemons. Moreover, it is interesting that fried avocado has an even richer taste than the raw product.

Are avocados fried?

Despite the fact that the appearance and taste of avocado is more like a vegetable, it is a representative of the fruit kingdom. In Russia, it is somehow not customary to fry fruits. Therefore, until recently, no one really thought to cook fried avocado. The recipe came, as usual, from America, the country that is the historical homeland of this tropical delicacy. I liked it and began to acquire all sorts of additives and nuances in preparation.

No one will argue that raw fruits are many times healthier than fried foods. Raw fruits retain all possible vitamins and substances valuable for health. But this is how modern man is already structured, that the possibility of heat treatment sometimes seems very attractive, especially in the cold winter season. Moreover, many fried foods, despite their obvious unhealthiness for the gastrointestinal tract, have very interesting taste qualities and sometimes are completely transformed. Therefore, to diversify the menu, it is sometimes worth allowing yourself to fry an avocado.

Roasted avocado can also be used as a separate dish, especially if it is cooked together with other vegetables. But most often it is used as an independent snack for a variety of drinks or even as a side dish for meat or fish dishes.

The dish is most often prepared deep-fried. But there are options for baking it or simply frying it in breading.

Advice! Fried avocado goes best with garlic or mustard sauce, tomato paste or mayonnaise dressing.

Calorie content of fried avocado

Of course, the calorie content of fried avocado increases, mainly due to the use of vegetable oil. If a raw product has an average calorie content of around 160 kcal per 100 g of product, then for a fried product it reaches almost 300 kcal per 100 g.

But, if you cook an avocado by baking it in the oven, as shown in the last recipe, then the calorie content practically does not change.

Conclusion

Fried avocado is an interesting and very tempting dish, in which the crispy crust is combined with the tender flesh of the fruit that melts in your mouth. In addition, it can be fried with other ingredients. This is a truly versatile product, and any dish will benefit from its addition.
