Fluvalidez

For all beekeepers, autumn is a special time. On the one hand, this is the time to collect honey, and on the other, it is a time of worries and worries. In the fall, beekeepers begin to prepare the apiary with bees for wintering. In order for a bee family to survive the winter without consequences, they must be healthy. Unfortunately, many people are faced with a serious bee disease - varroatosis. Today, there are a large number of drugs for the prevention and treatment of this disease in bees, but initially the instructions for using Fluvalidez should be studied in detail.

Application in beekeeping

Often beekeepers are faced with a disease in bees such as varroatosis - the appearance of a mite. If we take into account the reviews of beekeepers, then “Fluvalidez” perfectly helps to cope with this disease in bees. As a rule, bees begin to be processed after the honey is pumped out or after the completion of the initial examination.

The drug is available in strips, making it very convenient to attach to hives. Honey collected by bees treated for mites can be eaten without fear.It often happens that the disease is noticed only in the last stages, when it is not possible to save the entire family of bees, which is why Fluvalidez is also used to prevent the occurrence of diseases.

Release form, composition

"Fluvalidez" is a drug used to treat varroatosis in bees. The drug contains the following active substances:

  • fluvalinate;
  • thyme essential oil;
  • lavender;
  • rosemary;
  • peeled veneer.

“Fluvalidez” is produced in the form of wooden plates, each of which has a size of 200 * 20 * 0.8 mm. The records are sealed in foil packaging. As a rule, each package includes 10 Fluvalidez plates.

Pharmacological properties

“Fluvalidez” for bees is a drug that has an effective effect on the nervous system of the mite, thereby leading to its inevitable death. The essential oils contained in the composition have an acaricidal and repellent effect, which makes it possible to fight a number of diseases:

  • varroatosis;
  • acarapidosis;
  • wax moth;
  • pollen eater;
  • helps destroy pathogenic microorganisms dangerous to bees.

Long-term use of Fluvalidez for bees does not cause the emergence of resistant mite populations.

Instructions for use

"Fluvalidez" is used to treat bees from varroatosis. As a rule, there are no time restrictions on the use of this drug. The plates must be installed between frames 3 and 4, 7 and 8. In most cases, Fluvalidez strips are left on for a month. Treatment is carried out in late autumn or early spring. If necessary, treatment can be carried out in winter, but provided that the temperature is not lower than -10°C.

Comment! If the strip touches approximately 10-15% of the bees of the total number, then this will be enough, since the treated individuals will spread the drug to all the others.

Dosage, rules of use

Fluvalinate is the main active ingredient of Fluvalidez, which is used to treat bee colonies. As a rule, beekeepers start using the drug in the spring, after the initial examination of the bees has been carried out, as well as in the summer and autumn, when honey is pumped out. Since the drug is produced in strips, it is placed in the hive. For every 10-12 nesting frames, 2 strips of Fluvalidez are used.

If the family is small and includes a maximum of 6 frames or is a layer, then 1 strip is enough, which is placed in the center.

For a weak family, the drug should be placed between 3 and 4 frames; in a strong family, it should be placed between 3-4 and 7-8 frames. The period of stay of “Fluvalidez” in the hive can vary from 3 to 30 days (it all depends on the printed brood).

Advice! To attach the Fluvalidez strip, use a paper clip, pass a pin through it, and then attach it between two frames in a vertical position.

Side effects, contraindications, restrictions on use

If we take into account the description and reviews of “Fluvalidez” in strips, then we can safely say that this product is completely safe for honey bees. If you follow the attached instructions and do not exceed the maximum permissible dosages, which are also indicated by the manufacturer, then there will be no side effects.

Important! To ensure that the drug does not lose its properties after the first use, it must be stored correctly.

Shelf life and storage conditions

The drug "Fluvalidez", used for the treatment and prevention of diseases in bees, must be properly stored after use. For further storage, you must choose a place protected from direct sunlight. It should not be accessible to children or pets. Permissible storage temperature varies from 0°C to +25°C. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of production of Fluvalidez.

Attention! It is necessary to open the package only before starting to process the bees. Honey that has been collected by processed bee colonies can be safely consumed.

Conclusion

The instructions for use of Fluvalidez should be studied first of all, even before its use is started. This is the only way to guarantee safety for the bee colony. Do not neglect the rules and recommendations indicated by the manufacturer on the packaging of the drug.

Reviews

My bee experience will soon be 30 years; one could say that I have been with bees since childhood. During this time, I had to deal with everything, what diseases my bee colonies did not go through. Recently I encountered a problem - mites appeared. I began to look for drugs for treatment. I studied a lot of reviews about Fluvalidez and decided to try it. I want to say that this is really heavy artillery. I was surprised that such a strong drug does not contain any chemicals and is produced in convenient strips, which is also good news. In general, I got rid of the tick quickly, hopefully forever.

Unfortunately, trouble also affected my apiary - the bees had mites. No matter what medications I used, nothing helped.There were a lot of ticks, and they still are. I had already said goodbye to my apiary when a friend recommended that I try Fluvalidez. I had a hard time believing in its effectiveness, but I tried it anyway. My surprise knew no bounds when this infection began to leave my bees. To celebrate, I bought several packages, you never know. Shelf life: 2 years, let them sit.
