So, for cooking we need the simplest ingredients:
- Pumpkin – approximately 0.5 kg.
- Granulated sugar – 250 gr.
- Citric acid - on the tip of the knife.
- Water – 1 liter.
- Cinnamon – 1 stick.
- Table vinegar (it’s better to take 9%) – 60 gr.

- We prepare the vegetables - it is better to form small pieces, wash them properly and peel them.
- Pour citric acid into water prepared in advance. It should be at room temperature. We make sure that the acid dissolves properly.
- Next, add cinnamon to the water.
- Add all the pumpkin cubes and let them marinate. Keep at room temperature for about 8 hours.
- To make the pumpkin compote look like pineapple, add vinegar at the end.
- When the vegetables are thoroughly marinated, you can put them on the fire, turning it on to maximum
- When the mixture boils, add all the granulated sugar to it. Continue cooking, stirring slightly. We do this carefully so that the pieces do not fall apart and the appearance of the product does not deteriorate.
- In total, the cooking process lasts about 30 minutes. After this, the compote can be poured into jars.
- We roll up the jars with lids and cover them.
- It is better to consume the compote chilled.

Pineapple compote, made from pumpkin itself, can be prepared according to another recipe. This recipe is one of the easiest to make. Even an inexperienced housewife can easily prepare it.
Necessary products.
- Pumpkin – 400 gr.
- Water – 2l.
- Granulated sugar – 250 gr.
In this case, you should not cut the pieces too small, as they will quickly cook, and the water will not have time to become saturated.

- Place all the vegetables in a bowl and fill with water. They put it on fire.
- It is necessary to cook until the pieces become soft and tender in taste. On average it should take 30-35 minutes.
- Add sugar. The list of ingredients indicates the minimum amount. If you are a sweet tooth, you can increase the amount of sugar to 300-400 g.
- After adding granulated sugar, you need to cook the dish for about 5 more minutes. During this time it should completely dissolve. Don't forget to stir well with a spoon so that the sand doesn't burn.
- Now you can pour it into jars.

To make the pineapple taste more noticeable and better felt, you can add a little juice of this fruit to the cooking. Here is another slightly modified recipe.

- Pumpkin – 1 kg.
- Water – 1 l.
- Pineapple juice – 0.5 l.
- Sugar – 500-600 gr.
If you wish, you can cut the pumpkin into rings. In this case, it will look even more like a pineapple.

- Water – 3.5-4 l.
