Drug Strobi

For more than two decades, synthetic biological preparations based on natural toxins have been successfully used in agriculture. One of them is the fungicide Strobi. The instructions for use characterize it as a universal remedy in the fight against fungal microflora.

The active substance of the drug is based on strobilurins - derivatives of betamethoxyacrylic acid, isolated from a family of common mushrooms. The mechanism of their action is to suppress mitochondrial respiration of pathogen cells by blocking ATP synthesis and is most intense in the early stages of infection, preventing mycelial growth and further sporulation.

Description of the fungicide

Strobes can be used to protect:

  • fruit trees;
  • vineyards;
  • ornamental and berry bushes;
  • vegetable crops;
  • different types of flowers.

The effectiveness of the drug is due to the ability of strobilurins to interact with the surface layer of leaves and other parts of the plant and penetrate their internal tissues. Strobi fungicide not only suppresses the action of fungal pathogens, but also prevents the formation of secondary spores, which is very important for diseases such as scab.

Fungicides based on strobilurins do not accumulate in soil and water bodies, as they are quickly destroyed. For example, when determining the residual amounts of Strobi in apples, its content turned out to be very small, and it was not detected at all in cereals. Strobi is low toxic to living organisms, which is its main advantage and, at the same time, a disadvantage. Fungi quickly mutate and become resistant to the drug. Resistance to the drug has been noted, for example:

  • in powdery mildew of cereals and cucumber;
  • gray rot in greenhouses on vegetables.

The first drugs based on strobilurins appeared in the mid-90s and since then sales volumes have only increased. Among the analogues of Strobi we can highlight Trichodermin, Topsin M, Prestige and others. The commercial form of the drug Strobi, as evidenced by the instructions for use, is presented in the form of granules, packaged in small bags weighing 2 g. In online stores you can find 10 and 200 gram packages. Convenient packaging and reasonable prices make the product accessible to a wide range of consumers. The shelf life of the drug is 5 years from the time of production. The granules dissolve perfectly in water and do not clog the sprayer.

The greatest activity of the working solution appears immediately after preparation, which should be taken into account when using it. The amount of substance used depends on:

  • depending on the type of crop being processed;
  • approximate area to be sprayed.
Important! When using the drug Strobi, you must strictly follow the instructions.

Advantages of the drug

Instructions for use and reviews from gardeners and gardeners indicate the undoubted advantages of the Strobi fungicide:

  • it can be used during the flowering period;
  • due to the ability to be evenly distributed over the surface of the leaf blade, Strobi is effective even with partial contact;
  • spraying with the drug can be carried out on wet leaves, at temperatures from +1 degrees;
  • the protective effect lasts for a long time - up to 6 weeks;
  • small volumes of the drug are sufficient for processing;
  • due to rapid hydrolysis, do not accumulate in fruits;
  • do not have a negative chronic effect;
  • decomposing quickly, they do not have a polluting effect on the environment.

Strobi has a wide range of action and can be used against:

  • different forms of spotting;
  • late blight;
  • powdery mildew;
  • varieties of rot;
  • scab;
  • rust;
  • anthracnose;
  • gray mold.

Spraying vineyards

The drug Strobi, as indicated in the instructions for use for grapes, is one of the safest fungicides. It effectively treats vines already infected with a pathogenic fungus, suppressing mycelial growth and further sporulation. Thanks to this, the disease does not cover large areas of the vineyard. At the same time, protection is provided against the possible effects of other pathogens.

The instructions for use advise spraying during the growing season, but no more than 2 times during the entire season and no later than a month before the grape harvest. The spray solution is prepared from a ratio of 2 g of substance per 6 liters of water.

Processing Features

In order for the preparation for treating plants to give the best effect, you should consider some recommendations:

  • morning and evening times are most optimal for treatments;
  • although the drug is low-toxic, you should use chemical protective equipment during work;
  • after spraying is completed, work clothes must be soaked in a soapy solution;
  • It is better to choose a windless day for processing;
  • After spraying, garden work is not recommended for three days;
  • frequent use of Strobi can lead to the development of pathogen resistance to the drug;
  • each spraying with Strobi must be preceded by a treatment procedure with another fungicide that is not included in this class of chemical compounds;
  • treatment should concern not only parts of the plant - leaves, trunks, fruits, but also the root zone.

The practice of many years of using Strobi and reviews have allowed us to develop recommendations, the implementation of which will help prevent or reduce the emergence of resistance to these drugs:

  • spraying should be carried out no later than a week after rains that provoke fungal disease;
  • follow the rules of crop rotation;
  • Use high-quality seed material for planting.

Flower protection

With the help of the drug Strobi, flowers are protected from diseases such as powdery mildew and rust. Spraying is carried out every 10 days with a solution containing 5 g of the substance per bucket of water. For garden roses, the treatment schedule with Strobi solution is slightly shifted - they are sprayed once every two weeks, and also before covering for the winter.

Important! Rose bushes need to be sprayed thoroughly, including the circle around the standard.

Flowers affected by a fungal disease must be treated with a complex of fungicides, combining Strobi with other agents, for example, Topaz.To prevent resistance, it is also necessary to alternate spraying with Strobi solutions with fungicides that have a different mechanism of action. In the second year of treatment, Strobi should be excluded.

Vegetables

For spraying vegetables, prepare a solution at the rate of 2 g of the drug per 10 liters of water. Strobe is effective:

  • when powdery mildew or late blight appears in tomatoes;
  • brown spot in carrots and peppers;
  • peronosporosis – in cucumbers, garlic and onions.

The instructions for use recommend alternating the spraying of cucumbers and other vegetables with Strobi fungicide with other preparations during the growing season. The next year they change the place where they plant vegetables. After the last treatment of the season, before harvesting cucumbers and tomatoes, the following must pass:

  • in open beds – up to 10 days;
  • in greenhouses from 2 to 5 days.

Fruit trees

The main problem of fruit trees is the occurrence of scab and powdery mildew. The effect of the drug Strobi against these pathologies is to inhibit the process of spore germination. At the same time, other fungal diseases are prevented, for example, various types of rot. During treatment scab on apple trees and pears, such an interesting effect as greening of the foliage is observed.

According to the instructions, the Strobi fungicide solution is prepared in the usual proportion of 2 g per bucket of water. Spraying is carried out no more than three times during the growing season and in alternation with other preparations. At least 25 days must pass from the date of the last treatment to harvest.

User reviews

The drug Strobi has long been popular among summer residents and gardeners. This is evidenced by their positive reviews.

Kruglova Maria, 49 years old, Nizhnekamsk
I really like growing flowers.Different varieties of roses bloom in the flowerbed all season long. Last year they were very badly affected by powdery mildew. I already thought that they would die. Got some advice from a friend. Before sheltering for the winter, according to the instructions for use, I treated it with Strobi. My roses were healthy in the spring.

Paslenov Viktor, 70 years old, Tambov
I am growing vegetables in a greenhouse. I have been using Strobi for a long time. It copes well with late blight of tomatoes. I follow the instructions, alternating Strobi with other fungicides. Sometimes it is necessary to carry out several sprayings. The main thing is to follow the instructions that come with the package.

Grushevskaya Lyubov, 57 years old, Astrakhan
We have a small orchard. We used Strobi fungicide to spray apple and pear trees. I really liked the drug - it works quickly and with a good effect. Increases green foliage. It is important to follow the instructions - the number of sprays should not exceed 3 times a season.

Ogurtsov Gennady, 62 years old, Kursk
Grapes require attention and careful care. Without regular treatments, it will not produce crops and will die. However, the drugs need to be changed periodically, since pathogenic microorganisms mutate and they no longer respond to it. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically change fungicides. Recently I have been using the drug Strobi. As noted in the instructions for use, and also according to reviews from winegrowers, it is not only effective against many fungal diseases, but also safe for the environment.

Conclusion

If you strictly follow all the requirements of the instructions for using the fungicide Strobi, then both the safety of the plants and their rich harvest will be ensured.
