Composition and release form of the drug Actellik
The active ingredient of the drug is pirimiphos-methyl, which is often called actellik. It contains phosphorus, sulfur and other elements - general formula C11H20N3O3PS. Release form – emulsion concentrate, active ingredient content 500 g per 1 liter.
The drug is produced in plastic bottles and canisters of different sizes. The manufacturer and registrant is the Swiss company Syngenta, which has a representative office in Moscow.
Principle of operation
Actellik belongs to organophosphorus compounds. The active substance disrupts the functioning of the vital enzyme acetylcholinesterase. As a result, electrical impulses stop flowing and transmitting through neurons (nerve cells). This leads to mass death of pests within the first hours after treatment. The protective effect lasts up to 2-3 weeks.
According to the method of penetration, the insecticide Actellik belongs to the intestinal and contact pesticides. This means that the active substance penetrates through direct contact with the insect’s integument, as well as into the intestines when the pest eats plant juices.
Advantages and disadvantages
Actellik is very popular among professional farmers, experienced gardeners and amateurs. The insecticide has tangible benefits.
Pros:
- speed – the result is visible already in the first minutes;
- economical - just one spraying is enough;
- long period of protective action;
- spraying can be carried out even in hot weather;
- Possibility of use not only in fields and greenhouses, but also for processing buildings and grain storage facilities.
Minuses:
- long waiting times - it is better to harvest the crop after at least a month;
- the product cannot be used as a prophylaxis;
- fumes are toxic;
- Aktellik retains a pungent odor for a long time when spraying enclosed spaces;
- To obtain reliable results, total processing of leaves from the upper and lower sides is required;
- limited compatibility in tank mixtures;
- dangerous not only for humans, but also for bees.
Instructions for use of the drug Actellik
Diluting Actellik for spraying is quite simple. You need to follow these instructions:
- Wear gloves.
- Measure out the required volume of the drug (this is not necessary, since the standard ampoule volume is 2 ml per 2 liters of water).
- First dissolve in a small volume of water and mix thoroughly.
- Bring to the total volume (2 l) and stir again.
- Pour into a spray bottle and begin processing.
During the season, 1 - maximum two treatments are carried out. You need to work late in the evening, during sunset or after it. If treatment is carried out in an open area, the weather should be dry and windless.
Aktellik for grapes
To process grapes, use Actellik solution of standard concentration 2 ml per 2 liters. This amount is enough for 10 square meters of planting, i.e. for 2-3 bushes. The number of sprayings is no more than two per season.
Aktellik for strawberries
To process garden strawberries (strawberries), a solution of standard concentration is used. At the same time, the Actellik consumption rate is slightly less and is 1.5 liters per 10 m2 landing Spraying is carried out 1-2 times per season. The berries are harvested after at least 20 days.
Aktellik for roses
The rules for processing roses are the same as for strawberries. Prepare an Actellik solution in an amount of 2 ml per 2 liters and treat 10 square meters of plantings with this volume. In this case, you need to try not to get it on the flowers, since many roses are sensitive to the action of water and may even stop blooming.
Aktellik for currants
Actellik is used to spray currant bushes, and as an additional measure, water with ash infusion. A solution of standard concentration is used to treat plantings, based on a ratio of 1.5 liters per 10 m2. The same consumption rate is for raspberries and gooseberries.
Aktellik for indoor flowers
To treat indoor flowers, use a liquid of 2 ml per 2 liters. This is enough to spray approximately 10 square meters of plantings. If necessary, the amount can be adjusted, for example, 1 ml per 1 liter per 5 square meters.
Therefore, after finishing the treatment, the room is thoroughly ventilated for several hours. Children and pets are excluded from access.
For ornamental and flower crops
To treat ornamental plants and flowers in open ground, prepare a solution of 2 ml per 2 liters and use this volume per 10 m2. If flowers grow in a heifer, it is enough to take 1 liter per 10 m2.
For tomatoes and cucumbers
Actellik helps against pests of tomatoes and cucumbers such as thrips, mites, various types of aphids and many others. The consumption rate is the same - 2 liters per 10 m² of plantings for open beds and 1 liter for the same area for closed ground. Harvesting begins after at least 20 days.
For cabbage
To spray cabbage and carrot plantings, use 1 liter of Actellik solution per 10 m² of plantings. In this case, the harvest can be harvested after at least 30 days.
For cherries and sweet cherries
For these crops, the processing rules are the same as for currants, raspberries, and gooseberries. The standard Actellik solution is consumed based on the norm of 1.5 liters per 10 square meters of plantings.
For the peach
The consumption rate of Aktellika solution for processing peach is from 2 to 5 liters, depending on the age of the tree and the spreading of the crown. The waiting period before harvesting in the case of peach is the longest and amounts to 50 days.
Compatibility of Actellik with other drugs
Actellik insecticide has limited compatibility with other pesticides. The active substance does not disintegrate only in “calm” solutions with a neutral reaction.
If the environment is aggressive (acidic or alkaline), Actellik solution cannot be added to it. It is first necessary to carry out chemical testing using indicator paper or a pH meter.
Hazard class of the drug Actellik for humans
Insecticide is a toxic drug. Hazard class for humans 2 (toxic), for bees 1 (very toxic). Therefore, during processing you must carefully observe the following precautions:
- Be sure to wear gloves, a mask, and protective clothing (maybe a gown).
- Prevent access to the site for children and animals.
- During treatment, do not eat, drink, talk or smoke.
- Avoid contact of liquid with skin, eyes, or inside.
- If Actellik solution drops onto the body, wash with soap and rinse with plenty of water.
- In case of contact with the eyes, wash the mucous membranes with a running stream.
- If liquid enters the stomach, you need to chew 8-10 tablets of activated carbon and drink them with a large volume of water. If abdominal pain and other symptoms do not improve, seek emergency medical attention.
- Treatments cannot be carried out in the water protection zone.
Long-term storage is not allowed. Therefore, the working solution is prepared in limited quantities - within the volume that can be consumed at a time.
How to replace Actellik
The Actellik insecticide has quite a few analogues. You can replace it with the following drugs:
- "Biotlin";
- "Kamikaze";
- "Ratibor";
- "Kleschevit";
- "Nurel";
- "Confidor" and others.
Conclusion
Instructions for use of Actellik contain a comprehensive description of the rules for preparing the solution, consumption rates, waiting periods and other important information. The described drug is effective, but at the same time it is toxic, so during processing be sure to follow safety precautions.
