Pre-sowing treatment provides crops with protection from diseases and pests. One of the ways to treat seeds and tubers is to use the drug Maxim. The fungicide is as safe as possible for humans and the environment. The active substance destroys fungal cells, strengthens the immunity of plants and increases their productivity.
Description of the fungicide
Fungicide Maxim is an effective means for treating seeds, tubers and bulbs by storing or planting in the ground. The drug protects garden and agricultural crops from harmful fungi.
The main active ingredient is fludioxonil, which destroys the fungus at the cellular level. As a result, plant immunity to diseases during the growing season increases.
The active substance is of natural origin. After use, the concentrate is valid for 48 days.
The disinfectant Maxim belongs to substances of hazard class 3. When interacting with it, take precautions.
The drug is produced in ampoules and bottles with volumes from 2 to 100 ml. To treat large quantities of planting material, the fungicide is purchased in containers from 5 to 20 liters.
The Maxim disinfectant has the form of an odorless suspension and is easily diluted with water. Bright red pigments are added to the concentrate, which allows you to control the quality of etching.
The drug has several varieties depending on the scope of use. For personal farming, it is better to purchase the fungicide Maxim Dachnik. Farmers purchase concentrate in cans.

Flaws
The main disadvantages of the fungicide Maxim:
- the need to comply with dosage and safety precautions;
- is poisonous to fish and other inhabitants of water bodies;
- planting material after treatment cannot be used for animal feed.
Application procedure
The drug Maxim is available in a ready-to-use form. The suspension contains an adhesive, so adding additional components is not required. According to the instructions, Maxim fungicide can be diluted with water in a ratio of 1:4.
The Maxim disinfectant should not be used on sprouted seeds and tubers if they have cracks or other signs of damage. Before starting work, you need to dry the planting material.
The solution is prepared in glass, plastic or enamel containers. The shelf life of the solution is one day after preparation.
Agricultural crops
The drug Maxim protects crops from fungal diseases. Before planting, prepare a solution that is used to treat the seeds before planting.
The disinfectant is effective against the following diseases:
- fusarium;
- root rot;
- gray rot;
- Alternaria blight;
- molding of seeds;
- downy mildew.
If you need to treat rye, wheat, soybeans or peas, according to the instructions for use, the consumption of Maxim fungicide is 10 ml per 5 liters of water. The solution consumption per 1 ton of planting material is 8 liters.
To prepare for planting sugar beets and sunflowers, 50 ml of suspension per 10 liters of water is required. For 1 ton of seeds, prepare up to 10 liters of solution.
Spraying is carried out once immediately before planting the seeds. Treating before storage of planting material is allowed.
Potato
To increase the effectiveness of the fungicide Maxim Dachnik, potato tubers are cleaned of soil. The required amount of fungicide is dissolved in water. The resulting solution is sprayed onto the tubers.
The treatment helps prevent the spread of rot during crop storage: fusarium, scab, alternaria, black knife. Add 20 ml of suspension to 1 liter of water. Before storage, use 1 liter of solution per 100 kg of potatoes, after which it is necessary to dry the tubers.
Pre-sowing treatment protects potatoes from rhizoctonia and fusarium. The solution is prepared according to the instructions for use of the Maxim fungicide: 80 ml is dissolved in 2 liters of water. The resulting solution is enough to treat 200 kg of tubers.
Flowers
The drug Maxim is used to treat bulbous and tuberous flowers: lilies, begonias, crocuses, tulips, daffodils, gladioli, hyacinths. The concentrate protects asters, irises, dahlias, and clematis from the spread of rot and wilting.
According to the instructions, the consumption of Maxim fungicide is 4 ml per 2 liters of water. The resulting solution is used to process 2 kg of planting material. The bulbs and tubers are dipped into the solution for 30 minutes, after which they are dried and planted. Treatment is also carried out in the fall to preserve planting material until spring.
Precautionary measures
The drug Maxim is relatively dangerous for humans and animals. If the dosage is observed, the active substance is not toxic to plants.
For processing, a separate container is used, which is not planned to be used for cooking and eating in the future. When interacting with the concentrate, use protective equipment: gloves, gown, goggles, respirator.
Animals and people without protective equipment are removed from the treatment site. During the work period, avoid smoking, eating and drinking. Since the active substance is dangerous for fish, treatment is not performed near water bodies.
If the substance gets into your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with clean water. When interacting with the skin, wash the area of contact with soap and water.
If the solution enters the body, take activated carbon and wash the stomach. The main signs of poisoning are nausea, weakness, dizziness. Be sure to seek medical help.
The concentrate is stored in a dark, dry place away from children, animals, and food products. Permissible room temperature is from -5 °C to +35 °C. The drug is used for 3 years from the date of release. Empty containers remaining after use are disposed of.
