Herbicide Glyphos

Fight with weeds gives gardeners and summer residents a lot of trouble. If you don't have time to manually weed, you can use herbicides to kill weeds.

Glyphos is a dangerous agent for weeds and cultivated plants; it destroys all vegetation in the application area. This is a full-time chemical.

Indications for use

Since Glyphos destroys all vegetation in its path, it cannot be used after the emergence of cultivated plants. In what cases can this herbicide be used?

  1. When fighting grass near paths, buildings, along fences. During the season, treatment must be repeated 1-3 times.
  2. Preparing a plot of land for sowing a lawn. You should start killing weeds 1–1.5 months before sowing grass seeds.
  3. If it is necessary to completely destroy vegetation in the process of cultivating a neglected or untouched plot of land.
  4. Control of weeds on the site in early spring or immediately after harvest.

Operating principle

The herbicide Glyphos is absorbed by the leaves and stems of the weed, as a result of which not only the above-ground part of the plant dies, but also the root system. During the process of death, the weed's leaves turn brown, wither and die completely.

Important! The weed killer does not prevent seed germination, since it does not penetrate into them through the soil.

How dangerous is the drug?

Glyphos is virtually non-toxic and therefore does not pose a significant threat to birds, worms, fish and bees. However, it is better to limit the flights of bees for a period of up to 12 hours after processing the field, selecting an area for them far from the cultivated area of land.

Warning! To avoid trouble, warn your beekeeper neighbors that you plan to use Glyphos on the site 3-5 days before starting work.

Benefits of Glyphos against Weeds

There are a number of advantages that should be considered when choosing a weed killer:

  • Almost 100% result from application.
  • The product contains a water softener and a high-tech surfactant, due to which the effect of the drug is stable, regardless of the quality of the water and even weather conditions.
  • The product destroys monocots, dicotyledonous, cereal and harmful weeds.
  • Can be used for mixing with herbicides from the group of sulfonylureas and phenoxy acids.

How to store the product

If you bought a larger volume of Glyphos than you needed, you can save it for the next treatment. The instructions for using Glyphos against weeds indicate the temperature range at which the drug can be stored without losing its qualities. Thus, at temperatures from –15 to +40ºС, the product remains unchanged. If the temperature in the room where the drug is stored is below –15 ºС, then it will need to be mixed more thoroughly before use, but the properties of Glyphos are not lost. The shelf life and use is 5 years.

Period of plant death after treatment

The period of weed death after Glyphos injections varies. It all depends on the type of weed:

  1. Annuals wilt after 3 days.
  2. Perennials begin to die after 7–10 days.
  3. Shrubs and trees – after 20–30 days.

How to prepare the solution

In order to destroy weeds on 1 acre of land, you will need 5 liters of diluted preparation. Glyphos is bred taking into account the weed variety:

  • To destroy dicotyledons and annual cereals weeds, you need to dilute 80 ml of the product in 10 liters of water.
  • Dicotyledonous cereal perennials require the application of more poison, as they have a more powerful root system. So, you will need 120 ml of Glyphos per 10 liters of water.

So, in order to quickly and effortlessly deal with weeds, you need to strictly follow the recommendations given in the article and the instructions for the drug. Remember that Glyphos is a strong, continuous substance, so it is best to use it before planting crops.

I read reviews online about Glyphos and decided to try using it to kill weeds in the yard - around the house and along the paths. The result pleased me. Now my wife doesn't have to walk around the house with a hoe! I'm glad I could make her life easier.

My husband and I bought a plot of land on which we decided to build a summer house. It was a very overgrown area, one might say virgin land. Whatever grew on it. We thought for a long time about how to get rid of so many weeds. Our neighbors recommended that we use herbicides. We took Glyphos. The result is excellent! Now we have a very beautiful plot and we have almost finished building a country house.
