Origin story
Siberian breeders have always been famous for developing new varieties. In 2019, the Semenovna tomato variety was included in the State Register and was approved for use. A whole team worked on its creation and improvement: Avdeenko L.M., Gubko V.N., Steinert T.V., Salmina I.S., Alilueva A.V., Zhitnekovskaya O.A.

Ripening and fruiting
Sowing of seeds is carried out around the end of March. Although the germination period largely depends on the seed preparation technology. To speed up the growth of Semyonovna tomatoes, the seeds must be pre-soaked. And in order to get the first shoots within 4-6 days, the crops are provided with a sufficient amount of light, heat and moisture.
Seedlings are planted in open ground or in a greenhouse approximately in the second half of May or early June, depending on the climate of the growing region.
If all conditions are met, you can expect to receive the first harvest on days 94-96 after sowing the seeds. The duration of fruiting is extended from July to August.
Tomato yield Semenovna
From 4.2 to 6 kg of tomatoes are harvested from 1 square meter; up to 2 kg of fruit can be obtained from one bush. The Semenovna variety can safely be called fruitful.
Resistance to adverse conditions
Tomato Semenovna is resistant to changes in growth conditions. Tolerates cold, high temperature and humidity well. However, in arid regions, where the thermometer stays at +30 for a long time OC, it is not recommended to grow it. In the south, the yield of bushes is significantly reduced, in some cases they may even die.
In what regions is it grown?
It is better to plant the Semenovna tomato in Siberia and the Urals; it was for these regions that breeders developed it. At the same time, it tolerates the climate of the Moscow region and the middle zone very well. Breeders also recommend growing these tomatoes in the Far East.
Methods of application
The tomato is ideal for fresh consumption, as it is actually a dessert tomato. Due to the small size of the fruit, it is suitable for canning and preparing all kinds of snacks. It can be used to prepare pasta, ketchup and lecho. Looks impressive in prefabricated preparations with other types of vegetables.
Advantages and disadvantages
In addition to high taste, the Semenovna tomato has many more advantages.
Pros:

- compact dimensions;
- does not require tying or pinching;
- high resistance to temperature changes;
- excellent transportability and keeping quality;
- high marketability;
- the ability to collect seeds, since the variety is not a hybrid;
- good immunity, especially to late blight.
Minuses:
- Can't stand the heat.
Semenovna tomato planting scheme
No more than six bushes are planted per 1 square meter. A checkerboard arrangement with a distance between plants of about 25-35 cm is recommended.
Caring for tomatoes Semenovna
The care and cultivation of Semyonovna tomatoes is standard and practically no different from the procedures with other varieties. However, to get a good harvest, it is recommended to follow some rules:
- the place where the bushes will grow should be well lit by the sun;
- the beds should not be in a draft, this is especially dangerous for young plants that may die;
- the soil should be sandy loam, loose and fertile, with good air and water permeability;
- neutral soil acidity is recommended - pH 6-7.
Tomatoes of the Semenovna variety love regular watering. Irrigation is recommended 1-2 times a week. It is advisable to use warm and settled water. Watering is carried out directly into the tree trunk, preferably in the evening. Do not allow moisture to get on flowers and foliage to prevent the development of fungal diseases. To enrich the soil with oxygen, loosen the soil after each watering.
To stimulate the growth of the bush, nitrogen fertilizers are applied in the first stages of cultivation. From the beginning of flowering until the fruit appears, superphosphate or potassium salt is added.
Before sowing, it is recommended to disinfect the seeds using a weak solution of manganese parchment. The procedure is also a preventative against diseases of an adult plant.
How to form tomatoes Semenovna
Due to the small size of the stem, the Semenovna tomato does not require the formation of a bush. In some cases, it is rational to leave two stems.
Diseases and pests
Tomato has a high immunity to late blight, for the most part this is due to the early ripening of tomatoes. It has good resistance to blossom end rot and septoria.
Among the pests for tomatoes, spider mites and aphids are the most dangerous. You can get rid of them using folk remedies. A proven and valid recipe is a soap solution made from laundry soap or tincture of black pepper. If the problem is serious, then it is better not only to irrigate the bush with the chosen product, but also to wash the leaves on both sides. As a last resort, insecticides are used.
It would be useful to carry out preventive measures. For example, spray tomato bushes with potassium humate during budding and before flowering. The product stimulates productivity. For watering, you can use sodium humate, which prevents the ovaries from falling off. And to improve immunity, use the natural-based drug Epin.
Conclusion
Tomato Semyonovna easily tolerates temperature fluctuations. Ideal for growing in regions where summers are short and cool, its fruits are tasty and early ripening. From the moment of sowing until the first harvest, it will take only about 95 days.In addition, tomato has a high shelf life and transportability.
