How to grow mushrooms on stumps

The process of growing mushrooms on stumps consists of several stages:

  1. Organization of the process.Preparations for growing should begin closer to spring. It is important that the stumps are in a shaded area. There should be no mold on the wood. It should also be damp.
  2. Inoculation of mycelium. Sowing stumps with planting material is usually carried out in April, after warm weather sets in. The mycelium can be colonized in specially created holes on the side of the stump or around the circumference. Planting material must be placed in the middle of the holes and covered with sawdust or moss.
  3. Growing. Stumps with mycelium should be placed in a humid and well-ventilated area. The stumps should be located at a short distance from each other, and the spaces between them can be filled with straw. The top of the stumps must also be sprinkled with straw. It is important to moisten the top layer from time to time. The appearance of a white coating indicates the emergence of a fungus. The stumps should then be placed outdoors in a shaded area. Stumps should be planted in a shallow hole, the bottom of which is lined with wet leaves.

The soil around the stumps needs to be moistened periodically. With proper care, the first harvest can be harvested in the fall.
