Gamair is a microbiological bactericide and fungicide. It is used in the treatment and prevention of many fungal and bacterial infections of garden and indoor plants. You can find the drug on sale from different manufacturers. Its effectiveness depends on following the instructions for using Gamaira for plants.
What is the drug Gamair used for?
Gamair helps prevent and suppress fungal and bacterial plant diseases. The range of its application is wide. The drug is used to treat garden and indoor plants:
- white cabbage for mucous or vascular bacteriosis, blackleg;
- cucumbers without shelter from root rot, downy mildew;
- cucumbers in protected soil with root rot, gray rot;
- tomatoes without shelter from Alternaria, root rot, late blight;
- closed tomatoes with bacterial canker, white and gray rot, late blight;
- flowers without shelter from root rot, septoria (brown) spot, vascular wilt (tracheomycosis);
- apple trees and other fruit and berry crops for moniliosis (monilial burn), scab;
- indoor flowers from root rot, spotting, tracheomycosis wilt.
Gamair can be used in different ways.The drug is intended for the following activities:
- liquid sprays;
- processing potato tubers before planting;
- watering plants at the roots.
In the photo, Gamair is in a bag, but there are other packaging options - a cardboard box, a plastic jar, a canister (for solution only).
Active ingredient: Gamaira
The active part of Gamaira is Bacillus subtilis. This is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, facultatively aerobic soil bacterium that was studied and described in detail back in the 19th century. It is obtained from hay extract.

Advantages and disadvantages
Gamair is attractive due to its wide range of indications for use and the ability to treat different plants. It also has other advantages:
- effective suppression of the development of pathogens;
- instant action;
- convenience and ease of use;
- safety for people, birds and animals, the environment;
- the harvest after treating crops with the drug is environmentally friendly and safe;
- the content of vitamins in products increases;
- productivity increases;
- the fruits become tastier, juicier and more aromatic.
The only disadvantage of Gamaira is its ineffectiveness for advanced diseases.
Instructions for use of the drug Gamair
The effectiveness of any means depends on their correct use. The instructions for using Gamaira tablets are simple:
- Place the required number of tablets in 0.2-0.3 liters of water. It should be at room temperature.
- Wait for the product to dissolve.
- Pour the resulting solution into water, the volume depends on the plant for which the product is intended and the reason for the treatment.
It is important to correctly calculate the amount of the drug. Methods of using Gamair tablets and other features in the table:
Number of tablets and volume of water | Processed object | Purpose | Application |
1-2 per 10 l for watering, 5-10 per 10 l for spraying | White cabbage | Prevention of black rot during planting, bacteriosis during growth | Water the ground 1-3 days before sowing the seeds, 1 liter per 1 m². Spray when 4-5 true leaves appear, then twice in 2-3 week increments - use 1 liter per 10 m² |
Cucumbers under cover | Control and prevention of root and gray rot | Water similarly to white cabbage. During the season, immediately if you suspect a disease, spray the plants - 1.5 liters per 10 m², twice in 15-day increments
Cucumbers without shelter | Prevention of root rot during sowing, treatment and prevention of downy mildew during the growing season | Water in the same way as cabbage. During the season, spray like cucumbers under cover, but 3 times
Tomatoes under cover | Treatment and prevention of bacterial cancer, white and gray rot, late blight | Water like cabbage. During the growing season, at the first signs of damage, spray the plants three times, similar to cucumbers, but with an interval of 1-2 weeks.
Tomatoes without shelter | Treatment and prevention of root and basal rot, Alternaria, late blight | Water as usual. Spray similarly to tomatoes under cover
1 per 5 l | Flowers without cover | Control and prevention of tracheomycosis, root rot | During the season, apply at the root 3 times in 15-day increments. 1 m² requires 5 liters of finished product |
2 per 1 l | Flowers without cover | Treatment and prevention of septoria spotting | Spray three times every 15 days during the growing season. Use 1 liter per 10 m² |
1-2 in 2 l | Apple trees | Treatment and prevention of monilial burns, scab | Spray at the stage of pink buds, after flowering, when the fruits grow to the size of a hazelnut. Use 1 liter of solution per 10 m² |
1 per 1 l | Indoor flowers | Prevention and control of root rot and tracheomycosis wilt | Water the soil, spending 0.1-1 liters depending on the size of the pot. Treat three times in 2 week increments. |
2 per 1 l | Indoor flowers | Treatment and prevention of anthracnose | Spray during the growing season 3 times with an interval of 2 weeks. 0.1-0.2 l of solution is required per 1 m² |
In addition to the tablet form, Gamair is sold as a suspension concentrate. It is usually sold in 5 liter cans. It is used for watering and spraying cucumbers and tomatoes under cover.
Tomatoes are treated with Gamaira suspension concentrate 5-6 times:
- 1-3 days before sowing seeds;
- before planting seedlings in a permanent place;
- a month after planting seedlings;
- another 2-3 treatments at intervals of 2-4 weeks.
A suspension of the drug for tomatoes is also used as a spray. During the growing season, they are carried out with a break of 2-4 weeks. For irrigation, 3 liters of solution are used per 1 ha, and 0.5-2 liters for spraying.
Cucumbers are watered with a suspension solution against root and basal rot, tracheomycosis wilt. Spraying is carried out against powdery mildew and peronosporosis. Application is similar to tomatoes.
The working solution from the suspension for irrigation is prepared as follows:
- Fill the sprayer one third with water at room temperature.
- Pour in the suspension.
- Stir the liquids until evenly combined.
- Fill the solution with water to the required volume.
Gamair is sold in the form of a wettable powder. It is used to process not only garden and fruit crops, but also spring and winter wheat.
Tomato seeds for greenhouses are soaked in a solution of Gamaira powder before sowing for 1-2 hours to protect against bacterial cancer, white and gray rot, and late blight. For 1 kg of material you need 1 liter of working solution. The treated seeds are dried.
Tomatoes for protected soil against the same diseases are sprayed at the first symptoms, spending 0.5-3 tons per 1 ha. The treatment is repeated 2 more times in increments of 1.5-3 weeks.
Gamaira powder solution protects cucumbers from various rots, tracheomycosis wilt, and powdery mildew. The processing options are:
- watering the soil half a month after planting the seedlings, twice more with an interval of 3 weeks, consumption 0.5-3 tablets per 1 ha;
- spraying at the first symptoms, then after 3 weeks, the consumption is the same.
Gamaira powder is first dissolved in 5-10 liters of water, then prepared in the same way as a suspension concentrate.
When using Gamair, it is important to consider its compatibility with other drugs. The simultaneous use of the following means is allowed:
- growth regulators;
- fertilizers;
- microbiological plant protection products;
- fungicides;
- insecticides;
- chemical herbicides.
Precautionary measures
Gamair is a pesticide, so it must be used, stored and transported correctly. The following points are important:
- Work only with gloves. This applies to both the moment of preparation of the solution and its further use.

Terms and conditions of storage
The storage features and shelf life of Gamaira depend on the form of release:
- the drug in tablets or wettable powder is valid for 3 years, can be stored at temperatures from - 30 °C to 30 °C;
- The suspension concentrate (solution) can be used within 3 months from the date of manufacture; it must be stored at a positive temperature of 2-8 ° C.
Conclusion
Gamair is an effective biological bactericide with a wide spectrum of action. It is used against fungal and bacterial infections of plants. There are several forms of release of the drug, but all of them are intended for preparing a solution for watering or spraying.
