Tomato Nadezhda F1: reviews + photos

Tomato Nadezhda F1 is the name given by Siberian breeders to a new tomato hybrid. The number of tomato varieties is constantly growing, plant species are being created that are more suitable for cultivation in the middle zone of our vast homeland and in areas where climatic conditions leave much to be desired. The Nadezhda tomato was created for growing precisely in such conditions. It is frost-resistant, adapts well to dry periods, rarely gets sick and is very easy to care for. A distinctive feature is the small size of the fruit, which allows winter harvesting of tomatoes in their entirety. The skin of the fruit is thin, but strong, tolerates heat treatment well, and does not crack.

Characteristics and description of the variety

Tomatoes of the Nadezhda variety are characterized by the following basic qualities and properties:

  • Nadezhda tomato seedlings can be planted both in heated greenhouses and in open ground with a mandatory translucent coating in case of a sudden cold snap;
  • the culture refers to tomatoes of early fruiting;
  • tomato variety Nadezhda is determinate, that is, a plant limited in growth, the height of the bush ranges from 60 cm to 1 meter;
  • tomato bushes are voluminous due to the formation of a large number of stems, this will require the formation of the plant on trellises or supports;
  • dark green, medium-sized leaves, need to be thinned;
  • the brushes form 4-5 inflorescences, from which the corresponding number of tomatoes ripen;
  • tomato fruits are medium-sized balls of identical size, the average weight of one copy is 85 grams, the skin of the tomato is glossy, at the beginning of ripening it is light green, and for fully ripe tomatoes it is bright red, the tomatoes are even and smooth, very attractive in appearance;
  • the taste of Nadezhda tomatoes is excellent, the fruit is sweet, it contains many useful microelements and vitamins;
  • Nadezhda tomatoes have a long shelf life, tolerate transportation well, and the percentage of losses in this case is insignificant;
  • Nadezhda tomatoes, according to gardeners, are universal in consumption, fresh fruits, salted, pickled, in salads and sauces they are equally tasty, any picky gourmet will not refuse juices made from these tomatoes;
  • crop yield is above average, per 1 m2 plantings, you can harvest up to 5-6 kilograms of tomatoes, this value will increase if you provide the tomatoes with proper care and follow all the rules of agricultural technology.

Soil preparation

Tomato Nadezhda F1 is demanding on the soil, so all measures to prepare it should begin a month before planting the seedlings, or carry out this work in the fall. It is imperative to fulfill agrotechnical requirements in this process; the yield of tomatoes and their technical indicators largely depend on the composition of the soil: presentation, shelf life, transportability.

How to prepare the soil in a greenhouse or outdoor beds

Let’s dwell on this issue in more detail, since Nadezhda tomatoes need soil prepared according to all the rules of technology.For a visual example, we have posted here several photos and videos where you can see how experienced gardeners do this on their plots:

  1. In autumn or spring, a month before planting seedlings in the ground, carefully dig up the ground and remove the roots weed and other small debris: twigs, pebbles, chips, plant remains.
  2. A week or a little earlier, complex fertilizer is applied, and the soil is dug again and loosened.
    For 1 sq. m, 2 buckets of organic fertilizer, consisting of equal parts of leaf humus and manure, are enough. If you have little organic matter in stock, add it directly to the holes at the rate of 0.5 kg per hole. Mix the soil in the holes with an organic additive. Potassium-phosphorus mixtures or special additives for tomatoes are used as mineral fertilizers. They are added before digging the area; one 200 g glass per 1 square meter will be enough. m.

    Nitrogen-containing mixtures should not be added if organic fertilizers are applied in sufficient quantities. Excess nitrogen enhances the development of all above-ground parts of the plant, which leads to the formation of excess stems and leaves, and almost no fruit ovaries are formed.
  3. If necessary, disinfect the soil. To do this, the soil in the holes is spilled with water and special chemical and biological agents are added: Fitosporin, Trichodermin, Glinokladin.
  4. Tomato Nadezhda does not like acidic soils. You can check the acidity level using litmus paper strips, which are sold in stores. The normal value for planting tomatoes should be within 6-7 units on a single scale. After watching the video at the end of the article, you will know how to do this in practice.

The soil for tomatoes is ready, after 7-10 days you can start planting seedlings in the ground.

Landing

With the arrival of warm spring days, it is time to plant seedlings. This happens at the end of May or at the very beginning of summer, when the threat of frost has passed and the soil has warmed up sufficiently. Immediately prepare a film shelter in case of a sudden drop in temperature. At night during this period it is also recommended to cover the plantings with film; at night the temperature is still too low for young tomato plants.

Seedlings can be planted in a greenhouse a little earlier, in April - May, where the air is warmed up much earlier under the sun's rays and the space is protected from cold winds.

The technology for planting Nadezhda tomatoes is the same for greenhouses and open ground:

  • dig holes 15-20 cm deep at a distance of at least 0.5 meters from each other;
  • carefully release the seedling from the seedling container;
  • place the seedlings together with a lump of earth so that the lump does not fall apart; it is better to moisten it before excavation;
  • cover the seedlings with soil, making a small mound around the hole so that the water does not spread in different directions;
  • pour plenty of warm water, wait until the moisture is absorbed;
  • mulch the seedling with peat, sawdust or dark PVC film.

In the evening, cover the beds with planted seedlings with film to create a comfortable temperature at night; you can remove it during the day.

Care

Tomato Nadezhda F1, according to gardeners, is easy to care for, but after planting seedlings, you should not completely forget about them, you should constantly care for and care for the plants, this will guarantee high yields and ensure the healthy development of seedlings. It is necessary to fulfill the usual requirements for caring for tomatoes:

  1. Watering tomatoes - 1-2 times a week, in case of persistent drought - much more often (daily), or when the top layer of soil dries out.
  2. Remove weeds regularly.
  3. Loosening the soil for better aeration - if regular watering is necessary or impossible.
  4. Pest prevention and control - if necessary.
  5. Garter and formation of the bush - as the plant grows.

Gardeners perform this work every day; not only tomatoes grow in their gardens, all plants require care, so performing such work is not burdensome and simple for a gardener. Passionate amateur gardeners are ready to spend whole days on their plots, caring for already planted crops or experimenting with new varieties, such as the Nadezhda tomato.

Reviews from experimental gardeners

Very little time has passed since the appearance of Nadezhda tomato seeds on sale, but many inquisitive plant growers have already managed to try this variety in their gardens and greenhouses. Today they are ready to share their experience with our readers:

Ivan, 44 years old, Tyumen
I liked the name of the variety, Nadezhda - encouraging. I planted several bushes of this tomato to try. I bought the seedlings ready-made. I was pleased with the result. The tomatoes are medium in size, but even, uniform, and beautiful. Productivity is also commendable. From one bed of 2x6 meters I collected about 6 buckets (a seven-liter bucket). The variety is excellent for our climate; it manages to ripen during our short summer.
Veronica, 29 years old, Izhevsk
I bought tomato seeds of the Nadezhda F1 variety through an online store. I grew the seedlings myself. Out of 15 seeds, 10 sprouted, 8 grew wonderfully, and 2 withered, I don’t know why. I planted these 8 seedlings in a greenhouse; I didn’t dare plant them in the garden. I liked the result, both the shape of the fruits (beautiful) and their quantity for the whole season (from 1 bush - about 2 buckets).The taste is like an ordinary tomato, but when packed for the winter they are beautiful: they don’t crack, fit easily into any jars, the taste is also excellent.
Claudia, 38 years old, Cheboksary
My rating for the Nadezhda tomato is excellent. In it, all my wishes regarding tomatoes came true. Beautiful fruits, excellent harvest, resistance to cold and drought above normal. Last cold summer, many of my tomatoes died, but it survived, only one bush withered, but over time it recovered and formed ovaries.

Conclusion

Nadezhda tomatoes are not yet known to a wide range of garden plant lovers, but the process of their distribution is already rapidly underway: via the Internet, exchange between neighbors, and rare cases of purchase on open sale.
