Radish Dabel F1 is one of the fastest ripening hybrids of Dutch origin. Descriptions, reviews and photos of the variety indicate its high consumer characteristics, thanks to which radishes have gained wide popularity.
Description of the variety
The radish variety Dabel F1 was registered by Dutch breeders in 2006. Dutch varieties have long been famous for their high quality indicators:
- early ripening;
- record yield;
- resistance to diseases and pests;
- excellent taste characteristics.
Radish Dabel F1 is characterized by neat compact rosettes of leaves, under which large bright red root vegetables are formed. Their ripening time is only 18-23 days. If the planting scheme is followed, the root crops are leveled, dense, without any voids. Even standing still does not cause hollowness of plants. The crispy, juicy flesh is medium spicy. The variety is perfect for growing in greenhouses and open ground.
Advantages and disadvantages of the variety
The advantages of Radish Dabel F1 over other varieties and minor disadvantages are presented in the table.
Advantages of the variety | Flaws |
Early ripening – up to 23 days | High cost of seeds |
Large fruit size – up to 30-35 g |
|
Cold resistance | Long periods of low temperatures inhibit the growth of root crops and provoke bolting |
No hollowness even when overripe |

Seed preparation
Radish Dabel F1 can be grown in open beds all season - from March until almost the end of autumn. The last sowing is carried out in October. In greenhouses, the variety can be cultivated even in the winter months. Seedlings begin to germinate already at +3 degrees. It is recommended to calibrate radish seeds before planting. After calibration:
- place the seeds in a cloth moistened with water and place in a warm place for a day;
- After processing, the seeds are slightly dried and sown in soil prepared in the fall.
Features of agricultural technology
Radishes respond well to fertile sandy loam soils with low acidity. Knowing some of the features of growing in different conditions will help you get a healthy and rich harvest:
- Regular loosening of plantings helps to increase the productivity of plantings;
- radish beds need to receive enough sunlight; when shaded, the tops develop more intensively to the detriment of the root crop;
- the optimal temperature for radish development is + 18 degrees;
- Its useful predecessors are carrots and onions; it is not advisable to plant it after cruciferous vegetables.
Open ground technology
For spring plantings in open beds, they are prepared in the fall:
- dig up the area with the addition of compost and mineral compounds - potassium and phosphorus salts;
- In early spring, the beds should be slightly loosened and cleared of weed and level the surface;
- During the same period, nitrogen-containing fertilizers are applied.
The first sowings in early spring produce the largest root crops due to the high humidity of the air and soil against the backdrop of a short period of illumination. Radishes planted in June may be partially bolted due to long, hot summer days. The formation of small tops makes it possible to compact the plantings, using the following approximate schemes when sowing:
- 5X5 cm;
- 6X5 cm;
- 6x6 cm.
The optimal planting depth for seeds is considered to be 2.5 cm. In the case of industrial plantings, seeders with a precision seed sowing program are used. In small summer cottages you can sow radishes in bulk.
Growing rules for greenhouses
In winter, Radish Dabel F1 is successfully grown in glass greenhouses. Sowing of seeds is carried out from September to February according to the 6X5 or 6X6 scheme. The beds are covered with film to provide them with warmth. The rules of care are simple:
- at a humidity of 70% until seedlings appear, the temperature inside the greenhouse is maintained within 25 degrees;
- after seed germination for 3-4 days, the optimal temperature will be 5-6 degrees;
- from the development of cotyledons to the first true leaves - from 8 to 10 degrees;
- during the formation of root crops - from 12-14 in cloudy weather and up to 16-18 on sunny days.
The soil temperature is maintained within 10-12 degrees. The greenhouse is regularly ventilated.Before the formation of root crops, watering should be rare, but then it should become regular. Then the radishes will turn out juicy and large.
Radish Dabel F1 grows equally well both in a greenhouse and in open beds. However, violation of the agricultural technology of its cultivation can lead to certain problems. It is more convenient to present them in a table.
Most common problems | Their reasons |
Poor development of root crops | No watering for a long time Too dense plantings Lack of batteries |
Too thick tops in the absence of root crops | The dose of nitrogen fertilizers has been exceeded |
Low taste qualities | Daylight hours are too long |
Intensive shooting | Late sowing dates Hot weather Length of daylight hours |
Cracking of root vegetables | Uneven watering |
Protection from diseases and pests
Radish Dabel F1 is quite resistant to typical crop diseases. The best preventative measure against them is correct crop rotation.
Diseases/pests | Main symptoms | Methods of protection |
Mucous bacteriosis | Leaves turn yellow and then fall off | Spraying with Bordeaux mixture |
Downy mildew is a fungal disease | Yellow and brown spots on leaves | Treatment with fungicides, Bordeaux mixture |
Fungal disease blackleg | Yellowing and deformation of leaves, blackening of the base of the stem | Disinfection of seeds, growing healthy seedlings |
Cruciferous flea beetle | Large, eaten holes form in the leaves and the plants die | Treatment with wood ash, tobacco dust, insecticides |
Conclusion
Radish Dabel F1 is an early-ripening hybrid variety that has gained popularity for its high consumer properties and simple care rules.
