Features of cultivation

Yellow Necklace tomatoes are grown both in greenhouse conditions and on open land. The vegetable crop bears fruit in massive clusters, which bear a large number of small fruits.

Tomato bushes often form all of one stem, rarely two

Stepchildren must be removed. Also, tomatoes of the Yellow Necklace variety require slight thinning of the leaves. When the main stem of the plant reaches the ceiling of the greenhouse, it is pinched back.

Landing rules

Sowing yellow necklace tomato seeds is carried out in March in slightly compacted soil. Be sure to mulch the soil with peat or soil to a depth of 1 cm. Then I water it with warm water, passing it through a sieve, and cover it with plastic wrap. Leave in a warm room, maintain the air temperature to +25°C.

The plastic film is removed when the first shoots appear from the soil. Then the Yellow Necklace tomato seedlings are placed in a bright place and the ambient temperature is maintained at +15-16 ºС for 5-7 days, then increased to +20-22 ºС.

The signal for diving is the formation of 1-2 leaves of the plant. After 60-65 days, after the formation of 6-7 leaves and at least one flower cluster, the seedlings are transplanted to a permanent place in protected and fertilized soil.

How to care

After planting the Yellow Necklace seedlings, the tomatoes require proper care. The bushes need to be watered regularly, avoiding wetting the leaves of the plant, i.e. You only need to pour water at the root. After irrigation, the soil must be loosened, incl. remove weeds.

Attention! Drip watering of tomato bushes is allowed in the greenhouse.

The soil cannot be over-moistened; this will negatively affect the formation of the root system and the quality of the tomatoes themselves.

Basic steps for caring for Yellow Necklace tomato bushes:

  • picking when two leaves appear;
  • watering the seedlings through a strainer with exclusively warm water, the temperature of which should be +24-25 ºС;
  • introduction of special fertilizer “Kemira” or “Krepysh” into the soil;
  • hardening 1 week.

The Yellow Necklace tomato prefers rare but abundant irrigation, which is carried out as the soil dries.

When growing the Yellow Necklace tomato, it is recommended to use rotted manure as a ground dressing.

This fertilizer is introduced into the soil in the fall or 2 years before planting tomato crops.

Before planting tomato seedlings, the soil must be fed with mineral fertilizers, incl. containing phosphorus and potassium. Nitrogen is introduced into the soil exclusively at the beginning of the growing season of the crop.

Features of cultivation:

  • growing seedlings of 1-2 stems;
  • permanent fixation;
  • fertilizing - 2 times monthly (with intensive growth - with nitrogen-containing fertilizers, at the beginning of flowering of the plant - with phosphorus-potassium compounds).
Attention! When planting seedlings in a greenhouse at the beginning of the growing season, it is recommended to introduce magnesium fertilizers into the soil.

Fertilizing the soil with potassium should be done during fruit filling.

Disease and pest control

The selected tomato variety Yellow Necklace is resistant to various diseases, but still requires preventive measures.

When growing tomato crops in greenhouse conditions, the room must be regularly ventilated, the soil must be moderately watered and loosened.This will prevent the formation of apical and root rot.

Special copper-containing preparations will help prevent plant damage from late blight. An aqueous solution with ammonia will get rid of slugs. It is recommended to use industrial insecticides against spider mites, and warm soapy water against aphids.

It is recommended to carry out preventive measures in advance, before tomato bushes and fruits are damaged by diseases and insects. You need to start with seed treatment before sowing, and continue throughout the entire stage of crop development and growth.

Conclusion

The Yellow Necklace tomato attracts private gardeners with its taste and the presence of a large number of useful components, in particular vitamin C. Despite its small size, this tomato variety is universal in use. The juicy, sweetish fruits are eaten fresh, added to salads, canned and frozen for the winter, and these decorative tomatoes are also used to decorate various dishes.

Reviews from gardeners about the yellow Necklace tomato

Akulenko Natalya, Tula
The Yellow Necklace tomato is a rather unusual tomato variety. For the first time, I planted several bushes in a greenhouse for testing. 8-10 clusters formed on the bushes, simply strewn with small yellow tomatoes. The view is certainly stunning. The tomatoes taste pretty good, but are too small for rolling. And because they contain a large amount of vitamins for fresh consumption, 5-6 bushes can be grown.
Ugryumova Anastasia, Omsk
This year I grew Yellow Necklace tomatoes for the first time. I planted several bushes around the beginning of May in a greenhouse. Before planting the seedlings, I filled the holes with compost and introduced root fertilizers into the soil.For prevention, I sprayed plants against various diseases. The bushes have grown very much, there are so many tomatoes that it is impossible to count them. The fruits, of course, are small, but very tasty and last a long time.
