Fertilizing cucumbers with yeast in a greenhouse

Everyone loves fresh, salted and pickled cucumbers. But not every person knows that it is possible feeding cucumbers in a greenhouse yeast for more rapid growth.

Traditionally, only chemical and organic products were used for fertilizing. But organic products require natural substances for nutrition. Therefore, relatively recently, gardeners began to use natural or dry yeast and sourdough bread for watering cucumber beds. Let us consider in detail the methods of using yeast on the site and in the greenhouse.

How is fertilizing done?

Feeding cucumbers with yeast is spreading more and more throughout our country. Almost all plants actively respond to such fertilizers. They begin to grow rapidly and produce more fruit. This is explained by the fact that yeast contains a large amount of substances necessary for plants: nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. Such elements improve the composition of the soil. It is for this reason that it is recommended feeding cucumbers in a greenhouse with yeast. In order not to harm the plants, you need to follow some rules for preparing the yeast composition and introducing it into the ground. How to feed cucumbers with yeast? Everyone knows that yeast only works in heat. Therefore, there is no point in introducing them into cold soil. This is done after the fertile soil has warmed up, approximately from mid-May.

Yeast can be purchased in the form of compressed briquettes of different weights.

Or dry.

To use they must be diluted. This is done like this:

  1. In 10 liters of warm water you need to dissolve 10 grams of dry yeast. 40-50 grams of sugar (about 2 tbsp) are added to this solution. The composition is mixed well and infused for 2 hours. Then the resulting solution must be diluted again with water (50 liters). The fertilizer is ready for use.
  2. 1 kg of pressed yeast is dissolved in 5 liters of warm water. Stir the composition and leave for 3-4 hours. After this, add another 50 liters of water and stir. The solution is ready. You can use a small barrel for cooking.
  3. Crumble black bread into a 10 liter bucket (about 2/3 of the container). Pour warm water to the brim and press the bread with pressure. Store the bucket in a warm place for 7 days. During this time, the mixture should ferment. Then it is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:3. For each bush, 0.5 liters of solution is consumed.

Fertilizing cucumbers in the greenhouse with yeast solutions is done 2 times a month. During the summer, such compositions should be used no more than 4-5 times. Yeast feeding for cucumbers does not exclude the use of other fertilizers. Cucumbers are starting to grow quickly.

Why and when is fertilizing done?

You can feed yeast not only to cucumber beds, but also tomatoes, peppers, berry bushes and fruit trees. You can start doing this with seedlings. Its roots are kept in solution for 24 hours and then planted in the ground. The plants produce a lot of lush greenery, the number of roots increases approximately 10 times, and additional immunity and protection against fungi appear. But in this case a lot of greenery is not required. After all, we need fruits, not grass. To stop green growth, nitrogen must be neutralized. This can be done using wood ash. It must be collected after the burning of logs from fruit trees.

A glass of ash should be dissolved in a small bucket of warm water and added to the feeding mixture.

Yeast contains not only nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, but also vitamins, phytohormones, and auxins, which help plant cells divide. When watering with ash, carbon dioxide is released, which activates the work of phosphorus and potassium. In addition to those described above, there are other ways to prepare solutions:

  1. Add 100 g of compressed yeast to 3 liters of warm water. Add half a glass of sugar to the mixture and pour warm water over it. Cover the jar with gauze and leave to ferment in a warm place. Shake the container periodically. When fermentation is over, the solution is ready. For 10 liters of water, just add a glass of mash and pour about 1 liter under each plant bush.
  2. Dissolve yeast (100 g) in 10 liters of water and place the bucket in the sun. The mixture should ferment for 3 days. It is stirred twice a day. After 3 days the mixture is ready for use. Under each bush of cucumbers, tomatoes or peppers, pour 0.5 liters of the additive.
  3. Pour 10-12 g of dry yeast and half a glass of sugar into a 3-liter jar. Everything is mixed and left to ferment for 7 days. Then a glass of mash is poured into 10 liters of warm water, you can add nettle infusion. Plants will like the vitamin supplement. The harvest will not keep you waiting.

Conclusion on the topic

To grow a good crop in a greenhouse, you need regular feeding of the plants. Manure, herbal infusions, and special complex fertilizers that can be purchased in the store are effective. Bread starter and yeast feeding work well.Bread and yeast mixtures are made with your own hands, their preparation is not difficult. Yeast can be either pressed or dry. The finished infusion can be used to feed berries bushes, fruit trees. It is well received by tomatoes and peppers. Plants begin to grow rapidly, they develop a powerful root system, and the number of fruits increases.

Important! You can feed cucumbers 4-5 times during the summer, starting in mid-May. There is no point in pouring the infusion into cold soil, since yeast only works in warmth.

They also help flower crops grow. Yeast infusion has a beneficial effect on irises, peonies, gladioli, chrysanthemums and roses. Along with yeast supplements, other fertilizers are also used, such as mullein and nitroammophoska, infusion of crushed herbs and store-bought preparations. Sourdough made from hops and wheat works well. Try these fertilizers on plants in your own greenhouse. If everything is done correctly, the result will not be long in coming.
