Zucchini variety Iskander F1 will be a pleasant discovery for those gardeners who have not yet planted it on their plots. This variety of zucchini is distinguished not only by its taste and yield, but also by its absolute low maintenance requirements.

Characteristics of the variety

Zucchini Iskander is an early hybrid variety Dutch selection. Zucchini of this hybrid are able to set even at low temperatures. Their first harvest can be harvested in 45-50 days. Zucchini is unremarkable in appearance. The cylindrical fruits have an average length of up to 20 cm and a weight of up to 600 grams. Their thin, waxy, pale green skin is covered with barely noticeable light veins and specks. The soft white pulp of the fruit has excellent taste characteristics.

Advice! To prevent the shape of the zucchini from deforming as it grows, you need to tie up the bushes.

Compact bushes of the hybrid variety Iskander are distinguished by their productivity. Each of them is capable of producing up to 17 kg of fruit. It occupies a leading position in the fruiting period. You can harvest from its bushes before the first autumn frosts. In addition, Iskander F1 is not afraid of powdery mildew and anthracosis.

Recommendations for cultivation

The only thing you should pay attention to when choosing this variety is the composition of the soil. It should be light and have a neutral acidity level. The best predecessors for it will be:

potato;
radish;
onion.

Important! Many sources indicate that zucchini cannot be planted in one place for several years in a row. This is only true if the land is not fertilized.

Plants will extract useful substances from it, and when planted next year, the soil will be poor. If you fertilize your squash plot every year, there will be no problems with planting.

The bushes of this hybrid can be grown in two ways:

They are grown from seedlings a month before planting in the ground, that is, in April.
Planting directly into open ground. In this case, zucchini seeds must be embedded in the soil in May - June to a depth of 5 cm. To increase germination, it is better to cover the seeds with film for the first time.

It responds well to loosening the soil. It should be done no more than 2 times a week. Harvesting can begin from the end of June as the fruits ripen.

I don't really like planting hybrids because you can't collect seeds from them. And then I decided to try the Iskander F1 variety of zucchini. Reviews about it were very good. There were only 5 seeds in the bag - just enough for testing, but generally not enough. I planted them along with other seeds directly into the garden bed. Everything has come up! Neat bushes quickly formed and fruit set. The variety amazed me with its harvest. I even had to give it away, since in addition to it I planted other varieties. The fruits taste excellent and are very tender. I will definitely buy more!

This species is also susceptible to powdery mildew. All 10 of my bushes are sick. I did not treat the bushes with anything.
