Boletinus paluster is a mushroom with an unusual name. Everyone knows russula, boletus, milk mushrooms and others. And this representative is completely unknown to many. It also has other names: willowweed, marsh grass, false oiler. Perhaps once a mushroom came into view during a quiet hunt, but the eye marked it as inedible.

What does bolethin look like?

The fruiting body of the mushroom is formed by a cap and a stalk.

Marsh boletin is classified as a tubular mushroom. The upper part of the cap is always dry, velvety to the touch, and may be pubescent. Diameter – up to 10 cm, different colors – burgundy, bright red.As the mushroom ages, the cap turns pale and acquires a yellowish color. The shape is round, flat-convex with a small tubercle in the middle part.

In its lower part there is a tubular hymenophore, which diverges in the radial direction. Sometimes it almost turns into records. The tubular part of the marsh boletin is colored yellow, then acquires an ocher tint and turns brown. The hymenophore is strongly lowered onto the stalk. In very young specimens, the bottom of the cap is hidden under the coverlet. As it grows, it breaks and is noticeable on the stem in the form of a ring or fragments along the edge of the cap.

The spores of the marsh boletin are light brown in color.

The stem occupies a central position in relation to the cap or is slightly offset. It has a velvety scaly appearance. Thickness – up to 2 cm, length – about 5 cm. In the upper part it is yellow, and under the ring it is red. The color is lighter compared to the cap.

The flesh of the swamp boletin is yellow, sometimes with a blue tint. Has a bitter taste. Young specimens have little odor. For older people, it’s unpleasant.

Where does bolethin grow?

Swamp boletin grows on the surface of the earth, sometimes on rotting wood. Prefers deciduous and mixed forests. Moistening of the growing area can be either excessive or insufficient. The species can be collected from the beginning of July until the end of September. More often it forms mycorrhiza with larch, but sometimes it can create symbiosis with other trees.

Swamp boletin is found in the forests:

  • Siberia;
  • Far East;
  • North America;
  • Asia.

In the European part of Russia, the fungus is found in cultivated forest plantations or other areas.

Is it possible to eat bolethin?

According to the classification, marsh boletins belong to the group of conditionally edible mushrooms.Abroad, it is considered inedible due to its pronounced bitter taste. The Slavs have long used it for food.

Advice! It is recommended to pickle and salt the fruits, but only after pre-treatment.

Taste qualities of mushroom

Bolethin is a low-calorie mushroom. Contains dietary fiber, minerals, amino acids, vitamins. The body absorbs it quite quickly, food with this composition does not cause unpleasant sensations in the form of heaviness.

False doubles

False doubles have not been described for the bolethin. There is none of them. It has similarities to Asian boletin. The latter has a hollow leg and a more elegant structure. The Asian species is classified as an edible mushroom, so there is no risk of confusion with it.

Collection and use

It is recommended to collect marsh boletin when it is ripe and always whole. You should pay attention to the presence of worms.

Use only fresh mushrooms after pre-treatment. To begin with, soak for 2-3 days. Change the water periodically. Then you need to boil for 20 minutes. Later they are used for salting and pickling.

The vitamins contained in bolethin have a beneficial effect on the body:

  • have a positive effect on the course of redox reactions in the body;
  • help strengthen mucous membranes;
  • help faster regeneration of damaged skin areas;
  • increase immunity;
  • promote the production of red blood cells;
  • strengthen hair follicles;
  • assist in the synthesis of certain hormones;
  • slow down the aging process.

Thanks to the biologically active substances that mushrooms contain, performance increases. Sometimes they are included in the diet menu, because marsh boletin removes waste and toxins from the body.Chemical elements that it contains:

  1. Stabilizes the functioning of the digestive organs. The compounds strengthen the mucous membrane, suppress harmful microflora, solve problems with stool and hemorrhoids, and enhance metabolism.
  2. Positively affects the organs of vision. They strengthen the optic nerve and prevent the occurrence of cataracts, glaucoma, and conjunctivitis.
  3. They have a tonic effect on the entire body. Increases brain activity.
  4. They have a sedative effect on the body. Improve sleep, stabilize the menstrual cycle, reduce nervous agitation, and promote skin rejuvenation.
  5. They help in weight loss, as they break down fats, stabilize the functioning of the liver and kidneys, and increase the tone of the bladder muscles.

  9. Reduce the likelihood of cancer.

All the positive aspects mentioned above, of course, will not affect immediately after a one-time use of swamp boletin. This means that you need to eat such food regularly to get the positive effect. However, we should not forget that the mushroom is conditionally edible. Painful sensations may occur with frequent use. Abuse of boletin boletin can lead to:

  • poisoning of the body if pre-treatment is neglected;
  • allergies:
  • more frequent urination;
  • failure of the liver and kidneys.

The mushroom contains a lot of vitamin B, so it should be consumed with caution so as not to overdose.

Important! Swamp boletin should not be collected along roads and factories, as it accumulates toxins.

Conclusion

Marsh boletin, despite all its positive characteristics, is of little demand by mushroom pickers. Only those who are familiar with it and have the rules for collection, processing and preparation take it. If all measures are taken, you can add spice to the menu. When introducing a new product into your diet, you should start with small portions and listen to your body.
