What does a blooming linden tree look like?
There are several dozen varieties and types of linden. They have a similar structure and flowering characteristics. Inflorescences are groups of buds of 5-15 pieces. in each. The flowers, in turn, consist of five petals. They are not very big, but there are a lot of them.

How long does a linden tree grow before flowering?
The flowering period of linden begins at the age of 15-18 years. Since the tree grows slowly, gardeners have to wait a long time. At ten years old, the linden reaches a height of less than 3 m. With such growth, it cannot form flowers.
In many ways, the timing depends on the place of growth. If the linden grows close to other plantings, it will not receive as many nutrients.Flowering may also be delayed due to shading, when the linden tree is covered by the shadow of another tree or building. In such an environment, the period will begin at the age of 20-24. Be that as it may, the blooming culture is equally beautiful.

- In the southern part of Russia. The Krasnodar region abounds in vegetation due to its warm climate. Here the linden trees begin to bloom in May. If the winter has been harsh, the period may begin in early summer.
- Ural. This region is home to an American species of tree. Flowering occurs in the last ten days of June. The same timing is typical for the Saratov and Voronezh regions.
- Middle lane. In the central region, in particular in the Moscow region and Bashkiria, linden blooms in June. The tree copes well with temperate climates, so in summer the flowers do not keep you waiting.
- In the northern part of Russia. In the Siberian region, the duration of summer is short. The hottest temperatures occur in the last days of July. This is when the linden tree begins to bloom. Fortunately, some species are perfectly adapted to the cold.
- In the Caucasus. The tree blooms in early July. The heart-shaped variety is commonly found in this region. It is less demanding than other linden trees and is resistant to heat and drought.

As you can see, the flowering tree does not last that long. However, it is very noticeable to all forest inhabitants. At different periods of time, linden exudes a different smell: at the beginning of the dissolution it has delicate shades, reminiscent of the greens of a cucumber, then they are replaced by a sweet aroma, and at the end of the period some bitterness is mixed in with it.

For a number of reasons, linden does not always please with flowering. If a gardener is faced with a similar problem, you need to pay attention to the following points:
- Inappropriate landing site. The culture prefers bright areas with well-drained and fertilized soil. If a tree grows in a clearing, “neighbors” can be planted next to it. Linden is often combined with maple or related plants.
- Insufficient age. Flowering begins only at 15-18 years, so it is advisable to associate its absence with this reason.
- Moisture deficiency or surplus. In order for the linden tree to be comfortable, it needs moisture, which it receives from precipitation. Watering is required when hot weather persists and no immediate rain is expected. The liquid is poured under the root, it should be well absorbed into the soil.
- Unsuitable variety. Linden, in general, is an unpretentious plant, but different varieties have their own unique features.When planting a specific variety, they must be taken into account. It is advisable to familiarize yourself with the tree before planting to understand whether it is suitable for the given region.
- Insect attack. Linden trees are parasitized by pests such as leaf rollers and silkworms. Green leaves turn out to be a dinner party for many butterflies. To protect the plant, concentrated chemicals - insecticides - are used.
- Exposure to infections. There is no guarantee that the tree will not become infected with fungus. Its causative agent is usually small insects, which are countless in the bark and foliage. Dangerous diseases include black spot, thyrostormosis and white rot. Regular preventive measures, as well as treatment with fungicides, will help “disarm” infections.
